I've never been a big fan of Halloween, little scaredy cat so no thank you horror films and gory costumes. But any excuse to decorate our new home with a theme...yes please!
This was the first year I've ever been to a pumpkin patch and picked pumpkins. My husband and I were chatting about it whilst queueing (someone forgot it was half term when someone booked the tickets - goops) and I swear Halloween was never a massive thing here in the UK and definitely not pumpkin picking...was it?! We never went as kids but it was definitely an activity designed around children.
In my mind, I was thinking we would pull them out of the ground, like a Pick your own! Not sure why...but anyways, they're all just scattered in a field and you pick whichever ones you want.
I've loved searching through Pinterest for inspiration this year! Our house is still a building site so we won't be hosting or doing anything this year and lockdown with friends in London doesn't help.
But in the meantime, I doodled on our little pumpkins to have some decoration at least and will keep some of these ideas ready for next year, bring on 2021!!!
Here are my top 3 favourite ideas that I came across:
1. The best doorstep monochrome pumpkins
How cute! I didn't see any pumpkins this long...but if you have the patience, how amazing does the Halloween poem look!
Just from doodling on the pumpkins, you realise how hard it is to write across all the ridges, so yes, a steady. hand is required.
2. The best Halloween fireplace ever
I'm definitely going to try and recreate this next year, we're lucky enough to have a fireplace in our bedroom which I've painted charcoal so would go so well with orange!
Although there are about 20 pumpkins in that photo...
Loving those light sage green pumpkins too!
3. The cutest Halloween place settings
For the more crafty ones amongst you, how sweet are these little pumpkin bat place settings. With a little name tag in calligraphy, what a lovely keepsake for your guests.
All of these are on my Halloween styling board on Pinterest. Check out the rest of my inspo for next year!
Happy Halloween all, it's just a bunch of Hocus Pocus...
