The start of the workshop is all about getting to know the the nib and penholder, dipping into the ink, creating the thick and thin lines, how much ink to use and how much pressure to use.

Once you're comfortable with creating strokes, it's time to move onto creating letters. You can copy my alphabet or create your own, which is more like drawing shapes than writing.  

Then once we've covered the upper and lowercase letters, I can show you how to string these together to join up your letters, creating beautifully flourished words and phrases.

So by the end of the class, everyone will create their final piece on a lovely piece of card that can be displayed proud for all to see and every student usually surprises themselves!
